President Prabowo Stresses Firm Action to Safeguard National Wealth

Jakarta, indomaritim.com– President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed the Indonesian government’s commitment to taking decisive law enforcement action and bolstering the judiciary to protect national wealth and ensure public welfare.

According to Antara News Agency Prabowo said that: “If we can control national wealth, there will be sufficient funds to enhance every pillar of the Republic of Indonesia,”.  He remarked at the handover ceremony of administrative fines and forest land at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The president emphasized that taking decisive steps to protect national wealth is fundamental to ensuring the survival of all Indonesians.

According to him, public welfare will remain out of reach if the management and utilization of the country’s wealth fail to provide the maximum benefit for the national interest.

“This is a matter of survival. It is impossible for 287 million Indonesians to live well and prosper if their wealth is being drained every day, every week, every month,” he emphasized.

In his speech, President Prabowo also lauded the achievement of the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (PKH Task Force) in recovering state assets, yet noted that this is only a small portion of the total national wealth still needing protection.

“There is still a long way to go; there are still hundreds, even thousands, of trillions that we must recover,” he stressed.

In this regard, the president asserted that the state will ensure consistent and firm law enforcement, describing this approach as the foundation for national resurgence and strengthening the nation.

The president also highlighted the strengthening of the judiciary as part of the government’s efforts to build a justice system with integrity.

He argued that improving judges’ welfare is a strategic move to ensure judicial independence and show respect for the role of the courts.

“I believe that the issues of corruption and injustice must be resolved within the judiciary. Therefore, our judges must be respected, carefully selected, and provided with sufficient income so that they are beyond the reach of bribery,” he said.

The president further highlighted the need for all members of the judiciary to maintain their integrity and ensure that the public receives true justice. (RR)
